James A King

The final, post-cremation remains of James A. King were laid to rest at 12:30 pm, EST, April 17th, 2021. His ashes were poured out along the base of the fishing pier at Mazarick Park Lake in Fayetteville, NC. James A. King was born on March 20, 1946. At the age of 73 years, he passed away into the presence of our God and Lord Jesus, on December 23, 2019. James, who everybody called Pete, enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, playing cards, golfing, and fishing. He was best known for cooking traditional, southern-style, soul food and for fishing in any little pond, lake, river, or stream he could find. Pete was also known as a hard worker. He provided for himself and his family by working in the moving and storage industry in Fayetteville, NC for over 25 years. He lived and enjoyed life to its fullest. He had a captivating smile and a charming personality which drew people to him. He was often found to be the life of whatever party he attended. Early in his life, he married, fathered two children, then later separated from his first wife. In the early 1970s, he met and later in life, married Ms. Cecelia Anderson Kizzie, becoming an essential part of our extended Kizzie family and step-father to Ms. Kizzie’s five children. Though he is no longer present with us, he’ll always be remembered. May God bless his soul and give him eternal rest in his holy presence.
